What to expect

Whether you're new to counselling or not, it can feel daunting starting with a new therapist. I hope to make that first step as comfortable as possible.

My approach

I practice person-centred therapy, which offers you a safe, non-judgemental space, working with how you are feeling in the present moment.

You are the expert of your situation, therefore the pace and direction of our sessions will always be led by you. My role is as your guide, creating a safe and trusting environment which facilitates you to explore and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Who I work with

I work with adults (18+) across a wide range of issues.

Person-centred counselling can be a helpful approach for many of the challenges we all face, such as feelings of anxiety and sadness, relationship difficulties, major life events, or a desire for personal growth.

The connection between counsellor and client is essential to your positive experience of
therapy. So, to help you feel comfortable and sure I'm the right counsellor for you, I offer a
complimentary 20-minute initial chat (online or phone). I am more than happy to answer any
questions you may have, discuss your needs and get a feel for how we would work together.

Where I'm based

My face-to-face counselling sessions are held near
Windsor and Maidenhead, Berkshire, in a comfortable, private and peaceful garden office. There is separate access and on road parking.

If getting to counselling is difficult for you, I also offer online, video link sessions.

Session information

Our time together will be open-ended, meaning the number of sessions isn't predetermined.

It is common to meet weekly/fortnightly, and I offer a range of days and times.

We'll have regular check-ins to review your progress, discuss any obstacles you might face, and adjust our approach as needed.

Each session lasts 50 minutes.

Each session costs £60.

Testimonials

"I wasn’t too sure what to expect and was slightly nervous before my sessions, however it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was shocked by how much I learnt about myself and how much I developed in a short space of time. My counsellor was amazing, they listened perfectly and I felt completely heard and understood which meant a lot and also gained a great new perspective on all personal situations. I felt really cared for and they taught me so much, helping me become a much stronger and more aware person, which I am very thankful for."
"I can't thank you enough for being incredibly attentive, kind and understanding in our sessions every week. I honestly don't know what I would have done without the chance to sit and vent in the safe space you provide. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"I really appreciated this counselling opportunity.  I was able to order some thoughts, evaluate my circumstances and talk through some past experiences that have led me to the point I am at.  I was listened to.  I was made to feel that what I had experienced and the aftermath were significant enough for me to have some of the thoughts and feelings that I experience.  My counsellor was a great listener, she gave me the space to say what I wanted and to make a few plans for moving forward.  I am very grateful to Jess for all her time and energy."
